F1 2026 Regulations: What You Need to Know
The FIA has finalized the regulations for the 2026 Formula 1 season. The goal is to make the cars smaller, lighter, and more sustainable.
Engine Changes
The complex MGU-H is gone. The 1.6L V6 turbo remains, but the electrical power is nearly tripled to 350kW (470hp). The engines will run on 100% sustainable fuel.
Active Aero
To reduce drag on straights and increase downforce in corners, cars will feature active aerodynamics on both the front and rear wings. This replaces the current DRS system with a “Manual Override” mode for overtaking.
