The Death of the Sedan is a Tragedy

Walk into a Ford dealership today, and you can’t buy a sedan. It’s trucks and SUVs as far as the eye can see. This is a shame.

Physics Don’t Lie

Sedans are lower to the ground. This means a lower center of gravity, better handling, and better aerodynamics. They get better fuel economy than their SUV counterparts. They are safer for pedestrians.

The Illusion of Safety

People buy SUVs because they feel safer sitting high up. But this starts an arms race where everyone needs a bigger car to feel safe, making the roads more dangerous for everyone else. We need a return to sensible, efficient family sedans.
